Dear

You may have recently become aware of a cyber security attack Kin Fund Services experienced on the 19th October 2023. They have very recently contacted financial advice firms to make them aware that firms may have clients who have been affected by this incident. Kin advised us that they would be sending you a communication with the relevant details of the incident on the 14thNovember. Updates on the incident are also available on the Kin website via the following link www.kinfundservices.com/databreach which also includes a ‘Frequently asked questions’ link.

For clarity, Kin advise us that no bank details have been compromised and no personal identification documents, such as passports or proof of address, have been compromised. There does remain however the possibility of attempted ‘identity fraud’ due to data such as name, address, date of birth and national insurance number being potentially compromised.

Kin will be offering 12 months of free credit and web monitoring services, provided by Experian to help any affected clients mitigate against any potential identity fraud.

Kin will also continue to work with the cyber security experts that are conducting the investigation to understand how the attack may have happened.  Alongside this, they advise us that they are working with several expert firms and individuals to review all aspects of their systems and put in place additional security measures.

Please note that this incident remains isolated to Kin Fund Services and any data you currently hold with Chesterton House remains secure and uncompromised. We are also a Cyber Essentials accredited firm, a government backed scheme which demonstrates that an organisation has taken the necessary steps to protect itself against cyber threats. You can read our website blog regarding our accreditation HERE
