Information about the Murder Mystery Evening

When is the train?

Thursday 19th August 2021.

The action begins at 7.00pm on the platform so please arrive from 6.45pm to be poised and ready.

Where do I need to be?

We begin at the Loughborough station of the Great Central Railway on Great Central Road.

Where can I park?

There is on-street parking outside of the station. It can get a little busy but you can park all along Great Central Road and the surrounding streets, I recommend Windmill Road as being close and usually fairly good for space. There are also several parking spaces along Leicester Road adjacent to the Southfields council offices with a short 5 to 10 minute walk to the station.

What's on the menu?

What should I wear?

We would love for you to have a fantastic and memorable evening so please wear something you feel comfortable in. We’ll be on the platform for a short while before moving on to the train for the main part of the evening so if it’s a little breezy you may want to bring a cardigan or jacket. The platform is under cover so rain shouldn’t be a problem! I suggest footwear you feel confident in for getting on and off the train and navigating stairs.

What are the facilities if I'm less mobile?

There is a lift for anyone that struggles with stairs. If you have challenges that I need to make sure we are prepared for please give me a call or let me know by email at jenny.jervis@chestertonhouse.co.uk.

What measures are in place to be Covid safe?

I am keeping up to date with the guidelines for this event as we move further into step 4 of the roadmap and am working together with the team at the Great Central to make sure that we keep everybody safe.

The Great Central Railway has requested that face coverings be worn on the platform and while moving about on the train. Once seated to eat you are free to remove your mask.

Distancing measures remain in place on the train, with Perspex screens between the tables. GCR staff will wear face coverings whilst moving through the train and the victim and suspects will be respectful of distancing too.
